The $200 million Powerball prize is the largest jackpot offered by any Australian lottery game in history, breaking the previous $160 million Powerball jackpot record set in 2022.

While no entries scored the Division One prize in the s $150 million Powerball draw, a total of 5,102,570 prizes worth more than $103 million were won in Divisions Two to Nine.

The Lott representative James Eddy said Powerball was excited to welcome the record-breaking draw. He expected Australian lottery players would be daydreaming of what could be if they bagged a slice of the division one prize.

“The new year has brought with it an incredible opportunity for Australian lottery players – the chance to change their lives and become the largest lottery winner in the history of Australian lotteries,” he said.

“It’s unfathomable what winning even just a slice of next week’s $200 million Powerball division one prize would do for you this year and for the rest of your life.

“To give an indication of the scale of excitement projected for the upcoming draw, the peak of sales for this week’s $150 million Powerball draw was at 6:15pm when Aussies grabbed 7455 entries in a single minute.

“We’re expecting Australian lottery players to pour into lottery outlets and jump online as we approach Thursday night, with up to half of Australian adults expected to have an entry into the record-breaking draw.

In 2023, more than 122.7 million wins took home more than $3.76 billion in prize money from games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Monday and Wednesday Lotto, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.
