SHOWBIZ: 2 Proud 2 Prejudiced

Melbourne Fringe Festival and The Butterfly Club present a Picked Last For Sport Production titled 2 Proud 2 Prejudiced from October 10-16 at 7pm at the Butterfly Club Melbourne.
Jane Austen’s classic gets a musical makeover in this retelling by the five Bennet sisters.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Jane Austen will go down in history as one of the leading romantic fiction writers of all time. To celebrate 200+ years of Austen, Picked Last For Sport are bringing 2 Proud 2 Prejudiced: An Austen-tatious Cabaret to the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2022.
This will be a “somewhat” faithful retelling of the events of the classic Pride and Prejudice story as told from the perspectives of the five Bennet sisters and their take on how the whole affair happened.
The team comprises Sarah Edgar, Ryan Smith, Sean Sully, Melissa Viola and Freya Long.
2 Proud 2 Prejudiced is a musical celebration of classic English literature and an ode to the world of Pride and Prejudice and the characters within it.
This cabaret will explore the storylines and relationships of the novel through sketch comedy, musical theatre … and a life-size cutout of Colin Firth, because who else could really play Mr. Darcy?

Time: 7pm
Venue: The Butterfly Club (Upstairs) – 6 Carson place (off Lt Collins)
Full: $37 / Concession: $33 / Groups (6+): $30 / Early bird: $28
