The significance of the date for First Nations people and to promote understanding, respect and reconciliation, Glen Eira City Council will host a free, family-friendly event on Wednesday, January 26.

Community members are invited to join the Koorie Chill Out at Booran Reserve in Glen Huntly.

To be held from 5.30pm to 7pm, Koorie Chill Out will commence with a Wurundjeri Healing Ceremony followed by a Boonwurrung Smoking Ceremony. Popular Gunditjmara singer-songwriter David Arden will perform and there will also be a free barbecue.

In 2021, Glen Eira Council won a HART (Helping Achieve Reconciliation Together) Award from Reconciliation Victoria for its response to January 26, and we hope for an even more successful event this year.
