GRANTS: $2800 for Darebin Arts participants
Saturday, August 8, 2020
Darebin Arts suggests “Wear a mask, do a task!” “While we’re home-bound, now is the time to stay safe, wear a mask and embrace our creative side … whether painting, writing or indulging in a TV series.”
Applications are now open for Let’s Take Over and round two of FUSE Funding, as well as creative adventures to explore locally with the publication of a new artist zine.
After the success of its first two iterations, Let’s Take Over is back for another year, giving 10 talented young people, aged 15 to 25, the opportunity, budget and skills to forge their creative careers as artists, producers and programmers.
Successful participants are paid $2800 to be part of the program.
Across 16 weeks participants attend weekly workshops receiving skills development training covering access and inclusion, marketing, budgeting, programming and curation, production logistics, networking and more.
In 2021 this program will have two outcomes:
• A multi-arts, participatory festival that can be engaged with in person or online. This will be designed and delivered by the participants of the program. The physical elements of this event take place at the Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre.
• A youth-led symposium in partnership with and held at the Science Gallery.
Applications must close on Monday, August 31. For further details visit re this program and others, visit: www.darebinarts.com.au
